The monkey king's baton (a cult character in Asia, the hero of the Chinese novel ''peregrination to the west of the 16th century') is called 'Ray' Jon Go bàng (金箍棒) / 'Golden Magic Stick' or 'Ideal Golden Binding Gourdin': Its main weapon, originally an iron rod used to measure the depth of the sea. He was given the R-y Jon GoBàng by the dragon Ao Guang. The baton weighs 13,500 jin (8.1 tons), but it can be easily lifted and changed to any size. It usually reduces it to the size of a sewing needle and places it behind its ear when it is not used.
