Tangka is painted at Longwu Temple, also called Wutun. Tibetan lamaserie located in Rebkong Tibetan Prefecture, Amdo Province, called Huangnan in Qinghai Province in China and is 186 km from Xining.
Renowned center of Tibetan thangka painting. Regong arts were inscribed in 2009 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The colors of this tangka are composed of pure gold and crushed minerals.

Tara "the liberator", "the salvder" and "the star" is the main deity of compassion in Mahayana and Vajrayana.
Grouped in the 10 Mahāvidyā, goddesses grouped under the name of Great Wisdom in Hinduism, it gained importance in Indian Buddhism to appear from the sixth century, then in Java, Cambodia and finally in Tibet from the eighth century and especially in the eleventh century with the arrival of Atisa.
It was first taken for an emanation of Avalokitesvara (Guan Yin), the Bodhisattva of great compassion, born of a lotus pushed into a tear of the latter.
She was then put in the same way as Prajnaparamita and will see just as she attributes the title of "mother of all the victors", popularized especially as "the saving" "the one who makes cross on the other side".
Considered "the one who saves from the eight great fears", she is also the universal mother of all beings, protecting animals and plants and reigns over the three worlds the lower world, the earth and the heavens.
In the Vajrayana Tara is also a deity of election (Yi Dam), able to lead the practitioner to the perfect Awakening that she embodies.
In the Tantric movement, she reveals herself as a perfect Buddha in female form.
Tara was introduced to Tibet by the Nepalese princess Tristün, wife of King Songtsen Gampo (569-650) bringing with her a sandalwood statue of the goddess.
The green tara is the main form from which all the others would come.

In terms of symbols, the Buddha, sitting under the bodhi tree, saw two things. First of all, he saw a Ferris wheel. This wheel embraces the totality of conditioned existence, it is of the same extent as the cosmos, it contains all living beings. It rotates non-stop: it turns day and night, it turns life after life, it turns era after era. We cannot see when it has started to turn, and we cannot for the moment see when it will stop turning: only a Buddha sees this.

The ram represents Garuda, a fabulous bird-man from Hindu and then Buddhist mythology, son of Kashyapa and Vinatâ and brother of Aruna, the driver of the chariot of the god Sûrya. It is the vâhana, or mount, of the god Vishnu. He is also considered the king of birds.
In Tibet, Khyung (ཁྱུང) is the Tibetan name for Garuda. Coming from India, he was assimilated to the khading of the Bön religion, the golden-horned eagle. The black garuda is a deity of the Nyingmapa school of Tibetan Buddhism that is held to suppress the affections caused by the naga and spirits of the earth. It is depicted on the Lungta. It is represented in the iconography of Shambhala by Chogyam Trungpa for whom it is associated with great speed and power. Like the phoenix, it rises from the ashes of destruction, it is indestructible.
