Obsidian ice. The absence of inclusions gives this obsidian a special transparency.
Since obsidian is a silica-rich acid lava vitrification, it is easy to create glass counterfeits.
Obsidian is not crystallized, it is a glass, it recrystallizes on a geological scale in cristobalite. Obsidian snowflake owes its white spots to recrystallization.
A magnifying glass with magnification 10 times, allows in the field, to track these cristobalites inside the obsidian, thus guaranteeing its authenticity.
Be careful, however, not to confuse its cristobalites with the agglomerates called "bread crumbs" present in counterfeit human glass.
We would like to warn our readers about the many counterfeits of molded glass obsidian. Obsidian being a natural volcanic vitrification, it is easy to counterfeit this material. Only a detailed examination with the eye, a magnifying glass and a microscope can disentangle the true from the false. Obsidian ice being relatively rare, a very low price should alert the future buyer. Extraction at the places of production, transport, size, trader, all this at once. We scrupulously examine our obsidians to guarantee their authenticity to our customers.
We are able to provide a certificate of authenticity upon request.
Amitābha, Amitāyus or Amida is a Buddha of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. He reigns in the "Pure Western Land of Beatitude" (sk.: Sukhāvatī, ch.: Xīfāng jílè shìjiè, ja.: saihō goraku sekai 西方極樂世界), a wonderful, pure, perfect world, devoid of evil, suffering. This pure land, a place of refuge outside the cycle of transmigrations – or the equivalent of nirvāņa according to some conceptions – is at the center of the beliefs and practices of the pure land schools. This Buddha, also called the Buddha of buddhas, is very popular among Mahāyānists, especially in the Chinese world, Korea, Japan, Tibet and Vietnam.
