The Chinese dragon is depicted with a serpentine body and a wide bearded mouth. It is a chimera composed of nine different animals: the horns of the deer, the ears of the ox, a camel's head, devil's eyes, a snake's neck, turtle viscera, vulture talons, tiger's feet and its body is covered with carp scales (117 in total, 81 males and 36 females). Its voice is similar to the sound of pans and thanks to its crest, the Chinese dragon can fly without wings. In Chinese society, the number 9 is considered lucky.

Strength and power: the Chinese dragon, imperial symbol, was the sign of the emperor of China. Only the emperor could wear the image of the dragon, especially on his ceremonial clothes. The dragon could also embody the vow of loyalty to the emperor and his dynasty. The Chinese dragon with exceptional longevity also symbolizes immortality.

It is then necessary to call them to order, or even punish them: if the rain takes too long despite the prayers, we take the statue of the dragon out of its temple to expose it to the great sun, because it is well known that dragons do not like the sun too much ...
