dragons embody power and power. They have supposed powers to control weather phenomena such as invoking rain during a drought. In China, dragons are found everywhere, in legends, the Chinese New Year, Chinese astrology, the arts, names and even locutions.
Chinese dragons symbolize luck, a conducive environment, power and soul nobility.
In Chinese feudal society, the Chinese dragon symbolized the sovereignty of emperors and all the elements attached to it were exclusively reserved for imperial power. Ancient emperors called their sons "dragon seeds" while they referred to their clothes and throne, respectively, as "dragon robes" and "dragon throne."
The dragon model depicted on the imperial robe has four legs each with five toes. It differs from the one on the robe of vassals where the dragon has only four toes on each leg. This difference thus marks the supremacy of the former emperors.
