Stone dimension: 35mm long by 25mm wide by 14mm thick
The chatoyance of this Quartz is caused by the presence of numerous parallel asbestiform inclusions of crocidolite, a variety of fibrous riebeckite of the amphibole family. In the case of Pietersite, these inclusions may or may not have been oxidized by iron and may be side-by-side, in the form of messy, silky-looking spots, yellow to brown or gray to bluish. Its best definition would be a brechic aggregate consisting essentially of Tiger's Eye and Falcon's Eye. Relatively rare, the world's main source of fine ornamental quality is Namibia.
Silver 950, the work is of course artisanal and fully watermarked.
Pendant dimensions: 58mm long by 36mm wide by 17mm thick
Total weight of 23 grams
